Ability to reconstruct a determination chain
Introduction to the notion
Source: Enterprise Transformation Manifesto; paragraph 5.5.
Traceability is one of the fundamental properties that has to be considered when analyzing or designing the Enterprise System. Others include: agility, auditability and interoperability.
Comment
To ensure this capacity requires a certain discipline. Modelers have to force themselves to put traceability links into place each time they create or document an element that depends on another. If this precaution is taken at the design stage, the impact analysis when change occurs can be carried out quasi-instantaneously.
