First decomposition level of the logical aspect
Introduction to the notion
Every logical architecture method starts with a breakdown structure of the technical system at first level. The notion of layer is an obvious one, involving some topological constraints. The first of these constraints requires communication to be one way only, metaphorically speaking either top-down or bottom-up. Praxeme uses the term “stratum” in order to avoid confusion with the technical layers that pertain to the logistical aspect.
The stratification principle states that the strata are deduced from the representation framework:
- the “Foundation” stratum picks up the content of the semantic aspect, translated into logical constituents;
- the “Activation” stratum corresponds to the pragmatic aspect;
- the “Interaction” stratum anticipates the solutions that will enable the Enterprise System to interact with its environment (human beings, other systems).
