A parameter is a specification of an argument used to pass information into or out of an invocation of a behavioral feature.

Their main characteristics are their name, passing mode, and type. The “return value" of an Operation is a specific case managed by a specific association between Operation and Parameter. Under Objecteering, a Parameter belongs to its Operation.
