Logical Machine

Coordinated set of logical services

Introduction to the notion

The services apply to the same class (the same notion). “Unit” services are distinguished from “set” oriented services. The machines in a workshop can work together through delegation.

Depending on their origin, we distinguish between different types of logical machines:

  • Business Logical Machines (BLM) or “distributors” implement a semantic class.
  • Organization Logical Machines (OLM) or “orchestrators” express organizational decisions. They are defined using a criterion which can be the use case, type of actor, process, etc.
  • Other machines emerge from logical or technical considerations. They are sometimes referred to as “transversal machines” or “utilities”. They provide general facilities such as event management or encoding.
