CEISAR and the Praxeme Institute share common convictions, summarized in the text below.

CEISAR - Praxeme platform

1. Definition of enterprise transformation

Praxeme has adopted the definition of the term transformation, proposed by CEISAR.
“Transformation” is the opposite of “Operations”.

2. The importance of modeling

Both parties agree on the importance that should be given to modeling, as well as the requirement level that enterprises must have regarding modeling competency and techniques. These are a critical factor in driving transformation.
It is for this reason that CEISAR and the Praxeme Institute are joining forces to propose common principles and to work towards the goal of restoring modeling competences needed by enterprises in order to confront complexity.

3. The enterprise model

The enterprise model is the result of a rational approach to the enterprise. It contains all the representations that enable us to understand the enterprise and thus make better decisions. It is therefore the main tool in transformation engineering.

4. The place of business objects

The process approach has had a tendency to overlook other approaches that are necessary to describe the enterprise. Without denying the contribution that process modeling brings, CEISAR and the Praxeme method insist on the necessity of making room for a business object approach. In a transformation context, this approach has a specific part to play, as it gets down to the basics and helps extract a stable, shareable core: the business fundamentals.

5. The positioning of enterprise architecture

For both CEISAR and the Praxeme Institute, the discipline of enterprise architecture must play a major role in enterprise transformation, having a firm grip on strategy, the different domains and technology. The mission of this discipline is to consider the enterprise as a whole, through all its aspects.
CEISAR identifies with the philosophy expressed in the Enterprise Transformation Manifesto.
This is how CEISAR makes a key contribution to higher education, where it presents the Praxeme open method.

6. The common good

The architecture effort is motivated by the concern to simplify the Enterprise System so as to facilitate the transformation. It leads to a specific vision of the future system. This vision is characterized, notably, by the primacy given to the “common good”: wherever possible, the architect or the designer looks for shareable elements, common solutions. This approach offsets the project mode by focusing attention on reuse and agility. Such inspiration is translated into the system architecture, where we acknowledge the “foundations” on which the solutions are built.

7. A transformation model

A transformation model gathers elements and practices used during transformations:

  • the rigorous expression of operational concepts (the metamodel);
  • the techniques and methods.

In CEISAR’s words, the Praxeme enterprise methodology provides a transformation model.
