ASI INSA-Rouen
INSA (National Institute of Applied Sciences) is a French College of Engineering preparing students for the French national "Diplôme
d'Ingénieur" (equivalent to an MSc or MEng). (Location : Rouen University Campus).
As part of its training strategy, the ASI Department (Architecture des Systèmes d'Information - Information Systems Engineering) has an optional
translation course in which students are required to translate English technical IT-related literature into French for the benefit of the
French-speaking Internet community. Special focus is placed on Free Software and open source development. As need arises, translations from
French into English are also done, by bilingual students.
This translation project is part of ASI training strategy of maintaining regular contact with industry via real-life projects in which
engineer-students can assimilate, understand and open up to constantly developing concepts and notions. A partnership with the PRAXEME INSTITUTE
fits perfectly in this strategy. As they participate in the translation of PRAXEME documents, our students can get an insight into SOA, which is part
of their curriculum.
The students' work is graded and taken into account for graduation.
